Hello

my name is haley

I am a multidisciplinary designer & digital creator based in san diego, ca. I build delightful & intuitive human-centered experiences.

Some Things I've Built

my work

I am primarily a UX/UI designer, but I love to dabble in different types of design including graphic design, web design and mobile app design. My work below is a mix of passion projects, client work and projects built at my former agency role.

Mobile App Design

Women's Fantasy Sports

I am passionate about women's sports and I realized the women's sports sphere was missing a prominent fantasy sports app. And so kicked off my (ongoing) journey to creating a beautiful, easy to use app that can uplift women's sports and maybe one day compete with FanDuel, Draft Kings & ESPN.

UX/UI Design

Aerospace & Defense

A two year long project redesigning a complex multi-application legacy system to support asset management, increase efficiency, and minimize maintenance costs.

Web Design

Medical Breakthroughs By Design

Create a unique website for a virtual event facilitating learning and networking opportunities among leaders and innovators in the medical device industry.

Web Design

Medical Data Networks

Revamp a multi-page website for a diabetes management company that resonates with diabetic users, parents, and caretakers.

The Breaking Wave

Visual & Graphic Designer
Mar 2024 - Present

About a year ago my friend and I started a podcast called "The Breaking Wave", where we discuss our local NWSL team the San Diego Wave FC. Along with being a cohost of the podcast I work as our sole visual and graphic designer. I produce visuals and content for our Instagram and other social media accounts. I regularly use Adobe Photoshop and Figma to create my designs.

UE Group

UX Designer
May 2022 - Feb 2024

UE Group is small UX design and research agency, specializing in complex. technically demanding industries including aerospace, defense and healthcare. During my time with UE Group I worked as a contributing UX designer, gaining familiarity with the full design process and learning how to use industry standard tools including Figma and Adobe XD. I was also exposed to UX research techniques and learned how to communicate across multidisciplinary teams.

Internet Safety Labs

UX Consultant
Jul 2021 - May 2022

My role at Internet Safety Labs (formerly Me2B Alliance) was a unique one in that rather than physically designing myself I acted primarily as design critic. In this position I was responsible for evaluating different websites on various privacy and data-integrity commitment attributes. Reviewing website designs for dark UX patterns that led to data mis-management and deceived users.

Freelance

Web Designer
Jan 2020 - Present

Since graduating, I have worked as a freelance web designer and developer. I have experience creating websites from scratch, managing existing sites and redesigning websites as well.  I have intermediate experience with HTML/CSS and Wordpress development. I am well versed in a variety of "No-Code" website creation platforms including Webflow, Framer, Squaresapce and Wix (& Wix Studio).

About

more of me

I am a multidisciplinary digital designer specializing in creative direction, UX/UI design, and product strategy. Design is about how all of the elements of an experience coalesce to create something beautiful - this drives my obsession for crafting beautiful digital experiences that have a holistic and deep understanding of human needs.

With years of UX experience and a background in cognitive science, I use a comprehensive approach to design and seek to deliver innovative and personalized solutions. When I am not adjusting pixels in wireframes or hunting for my new favorite font, I can be found streaming on twitch.tv, co-hosting my NWSL podcast “The Breaking Wave” or enjoying the sunshine at one of the many dazzling beaches in San Diego, CA.
